WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE
Your essential self knows what you need just as the redwood seed knows how to grow into a mighty tree.
Life transitions and change can be hard.
This liminal (in between) time is both scary and an opportunity to give birth to what is most essential.
As a wilderness guide, I feel most alive in supporting people as they come into contact with that which makes them uniquely themselves. This process of self-discovery is mirrored in and supported by the natural world. I am honored to be a part of this process and approach it with humility, authenticity, and wonder.
I believe environmental education, back country skills, self-awareness, art, and pure adventure can come together in profound ways. I have experience guiding and designing nature-based experiences with Rite of Passage Journeys, Rites of Passage, Inc., the Boys Outdoor Leadership Development (BOLD) program, The YMCA Center for Young Adults, and The Evergreen School. I strive to provide a physically and emotionally safe trip so that the participants can rediscover their connection to nature, learn about ecological interconnectedness, and just play! As a Wilderness First Responder and Rite of Passage Guide, I offer my gifts to participants, the community, and the planet. With a sense of wonder, presence, and shared joy, I am fortunate to support people as they embrace their wholeness and true power.
Time and time again, I have found that one's journey into the wilderness is a reflection of deeper exploration of the wilderness within. We are not only traversing new terrain, we receive the support and guidance of the natural world. My role as wilderness guide is to mirror to participants the gifts and allies they already possess and celebrate with them as they come to know their true selves in new ways.

"Come into the mountains, dear friend. Leave society and take no one with you. Be your true self. Get close to nature. Your everyday games will be insignificant. Notice the clouds spontaneously forming patterns. And try to do that with your life."
